Taiwan Reports 14 SARS Deaths
Fourteen people had been confirmed to have died from severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) in Taiwan by Wednesday morning, according to reports reaching here from Taiwan.

By Wednesday morning, 125 probable SARS cases have been reported on the island. Five new probable cases were added with three deaths, putting the death toll at 14.

The five new probable cases include two people whose infection source is still unidentified, one nurse at Peace Hospital and two people who had been to Peace Hospital.

To date, Taiwan has reported 864 SARS cases, including 125 probable cases and 622 suspected and unconfirmed cases, with 117 ruled out. A total of 167 patients have been discharged from hospitals.
