Graduates of Beijing University Given Inspiration for Facing Tough Job Market
The prestigious Beijing University on Monday presented each of its graduating class with a popular book by well-known American author Johnson Spencer, entitled "One Minute for Myself", to encourage the graduates to improve their self-management ability and fit into their social roles as soon as possible.

Chinese university graduates are faced with unprecedented employment pressures this year, as the job market is still not optimistic in the aftermath of severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS).

Li Hanyan, vice secretary of Beijing University's committee of the Communist Youth League of China, said young adults are prone to feel worn down when encountering fierce job competition. He hoped the book given by the university would help graduates build a healthy and active attitude toward their future career lives.

"One Minute for Myself" particularly targets those under employment pressures and uses a series of fables to teach people how to build harmonious relationships with colleagues and how to keep inner tranquillity when under heavy pressure.
