35. What measures have been taken by the Ministry of Agriculture to prevent and stamp out HPAI?

China's "Contingency Regulations Concerning Major Animal Epidemics" and "Contingency Bill on HPAI" stipulate stringent procedures for the prevention, control and annihilation of HPAI. The measures include epidemic situation assessments and reports, quarantine, blockade, culling and sterilization in the affected locations and areas together with emergency vaccination and other contingent procedures. Provision is made for the necessary sources of funding. Should an epidemic occur, the state will activate its emergency contingency networks so that the epidemic can be controlled and stopped in due course.
