Is It a Prison or a Campus?
Adjust font size:

Zhengzhou Women's Prison in the Henan provincial capital puts a rose on every bedside in its cells.

Located in a quiet setting in the city's Liuji Township, the prison is the first in the central Chinese province to give a rose to every inmate.

Each cell has yellow curtains, a washroom, and six beds with fresh pink sheets, competing with many university dormitories.

Prison director Yuan Lizheng said the prison wants to offer a homey feeling to its inmates and let them settle down to mend their ways.
