The hot Taiwan singer Jay Chow's maiden film Initial D is to be screened at the 62nd Venice Film Festival. 

The film's leading actors Jay Chow, Edison Chen and Shawn Yue will attend the festival, but the film is not competing for an award. 　　

Hong Kong director Stanley Kwan's Everlasting Regret is the only Chinese film entered in Competition session. While, Tsui Hark's Seven Swords and Chen Kexin's musical Perhaps Love will respectively be the opening and closing films of the festival. 　　 　　

This year's Venice Film Festival runs from August 31st to 10th September. 　

The movie Initial D is based on a Japanese cartoon about a fierce contest between car racers.
