Zhang Ziyi Film to Open 2005 Golden Horse

China's most authoritative film festival, the 42nd annual Taiwan Golden Horse Awards, will take place November 4 to 17.

China's hottest actress Zhang Ziyi's first Japanese film Princess Raccoon was picked as this year's curtain raiser while French director Francois Ozon's Time To Leave will be the event's closer.

A total of 76 films have applied to enter the contest this year, 20 films more than last year, and nominations will be unveiled October 18.

Hong Kong award-winning star Andy Lau will likely besiege this year's Best Actor Award with his four films, Yesterday Once More, A World without Thief, Wait Till You're Older and All about Love.
