Taiwan pop singer Jay Chou's debut movie Hidden Track, whose Chinese title translates as Looking for Jay Chou is to hit the mainland cinemas on Thursday.

The movie tells about a Chinese girl's fantastic journey looking for Mr. Right.

Lamenting a failed romance, the girl, played by a first-time Chinese actress, keeps listening to a love song by Jay Chou, also known as Zhou Jielun, which reminds her of her ex-boyfriend.

After she finds a hidden track on Chou's album, she decides to go from her hometown to Hong Kong, looking for Jay Chou.

A string of romantic encounters take place in the adventurous setting of Hong Kong.

The girl's Mr. Right in the film is played by Hong Kong actor Yu Wen-le.

Hong Kong heartthrob Daniel Wu also appears. Jay Chou meanwhile only makes a cameo appearance for ten minutes.

His fans have been long waiting to see their idol's movie debut.

Much of the film's soundtrack is sung by Chow.
