Imported Wear Resistant Overlay Under Investigation

China decided to launch anti-dumping investigation since Monday on wear resistant overlay imported from the United States and the European Union, according to the Ministry of Commerce.

The ministry said in an announcement that it would scrutinize whether the imported products from the areas constitute dumping, and if so would confirm the scope of dumping.

The ministry received an application from the Tancheng Xinxin Paper Products Company in east China's Shandong Province this April, calling for anti-dumping investigation on imported wear resistant overlay from the US and EU. After examining the qualification of the application, the ministry decided to launch the investigation.

The investigation will conclude before June 13, 2006, but may extend until December 13, 2006 under certain conditions, said the announcement.
