Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing, who is accompanying President Hu Jintao on a state visit to France, met on Tuesday his French counterpart Dominique de Villepin.

The two ministers exchanged views on implementing the common understandings reached by Hu and French President Jacques Chirac for strengthening cooperation in international affairs.

Li and Villepin also talked about other regional and international issues including Iraq and the reform of the United Nations.
