Chinese President Hu Jintao left Egypt for Gabon on Sunday morning to continue his four-nation trip.

During his visit to Egypt, Hu held talks with his Egyptian counterpart Hosni Mubarak on bilateral ties as well as regional and international issues of mutual concern, and the two leaders reached wide-ranging consensus.

In addition, Hu visited Egyptian Museum and met with representatives of the Chinese Embassy and Chinese organizations working in Egypt.

The Chinese leader also met with Arab League chief Amr Moussa and delegates of the 22 member states, during which he put forth four principles for establishing a new partnership and deepen cooperation between China and Arab countries.

Moreover, the Chinese Foreign Ministry and the Arab League Secretariat issued a communique, announcing the establishment of China-Arab Cooperation Forum.

Egyptian Minister of Petroleum Amin Fahmi was on hand to see Hu and his entourage off at Cairo Airport when the Chinese leader left the Egyptian capital.

Hu arrived on Jan. 29 for a four-day state visit to Egypt, the second leg of his four-nation tour, which has taken him to France and will also take him to Algeria.

It is Hu's first trip to the Arab world and Africa since he took office.
