Farm Product Price Climbs 3.7 Percent in First Three Quarters

China's farm product price rose 3.7 percent year on year in the January-September period, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said on Thursday in a quarterly report.

 

The report said the prices for products from the planting, forestry, animal husbandry and fisheries industries grew 1.6 percent, 3.5 percent, 5.2 percent and 5.1 percent respectively in the period.

 

The producer price of grain saw a year-on-year drop of 0.1 percent, the NBS said.

 

According to the report, the producer price of fowl and eggs rose 7.7 percent and 9 percent respectively.

 

Statistics also indicate that the price of live pig rose 6.3 percent; beef cattle, 2.2 percent; and live sheep, 3.8 percent.
