Japanese Organizations Donate in Support of Beijing's SARS Combat
The Japanese Chamber of Commerce inChina and the Beijing Japanese Society donated 890,000 yuan (about107,748 US dollars) to Beijing Friday in support of its anti-SARS fight, according to the Japanese Embassy in China.

The donations went to the Beijing government, the Sino-JapaneseFriendship Hospital and a non-governmental organization which helps train women and girl drop-outs in China's rural areas.

Part of the donations, mostly from Japanese enterprises in China and Japanese citizens living in Beijing, will be used to popularize anti-SARS knowledge in rural areas, said an official from the Japanese Embassy.
