WHO Office in China: Beijing's Cooperation Active, Sincere
The World Health Organization's representative in China, Henk Bekedam, says Beijing's cooperation with the organization is active and sincere.

Bekedam says Beijing is willing to cooperate with the WHO. If the organization has any suspicion about statistics, Beijing provides the opportunity to recheck and verify them.

He notes that cooperation between Beijing and the WHO is successful, and WHO officials were frequently invited to attend Beijing anti-SARS joint working group's daily news conferences.

WHO officials in Beijing do not believe that the Chinese capital misreported the SARS situation.
