The World Health Organization is calling on the world community to offer sustainable help to the countries impacted by the tsunami.

The executive board of the WHO has begun its 115th session in Genovese.

WTO Director General Lee Jong-Wook says that, based on past experience, there could be a high incidence of disease and death in the aftermath of the disaster.

Members will discuss how to promote emergency responses to similar disasters in future.

June 14th has been set as world blood donation day.
