China Stops Anti-dumping Measures on Imported Steel Coil

China's Ministry of Commerce announced Friday that it decided to stop collecting anti-dumping tax as of Friday on cold-rolled steel coil originated from Russia, the Republic of Korea (ROK), Ukraine, Kazakhstan and China's Taiwan Province.

The ministry noted in a statement that it also stopped the import authentication on cold-rolled steel coil used for making tinplate Friday.

It was the first time China made such a decision because substantial changes occurred in the domestic and international markets, acknowledged the ministry.

China began to collect anti-dumping tax on the products on Jan.14 this year. But it decided to re-examine the case in May after domestic and world markets changed.

The ministry said it made the final decision according to China's regulations on anti-dumping cases.

Cold-rolled steel coil can be used in the making of automobiles, building materials, elevators, bicycles and household appliances.
