Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao has announced a new law to protect the World Expo's logo.

The law protects the design and rights of the creators of the logo and details punishment and compensation for illegal use of the logo.

It also stipulates the definitions of the World Expo logo, logo patent and commercial use of logo.

The new law will be put into effect from early December by the administrative authority for industry and commerce under the State Council.
