More Supervision Urged over Party Leaders

He Yong, secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and deputy secretary of CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI), urged discipline inspection officials to strengthen inner-party supervision over all government members, leading officials in particular.

At a work meeting attended by heads of local resident discipline inspection departments, He also called for monitoring how the officials use their power.

Discipline inspection represents a significant step in improving supervisory work within the Party and the Party's discipline inspection system, he said.

While praising achievements made by local discipline inspection departments in anti-corruption, he also urged them to work more closely with leading Party groups and Party organizations within governments to ensure Party leaders exercise self-discipline and refrain from corruption.
