Party Required to Promote Advanced Nature in Spring Festival

All members of the Communist Party of China (CPC) should continue studying how to maintain their advanced nature during the upcoming Chinese Spring Festival, according to a notice released Friday by the CPC Leading Group of Maintaining Party Members' Advanced Nature.

The notice demands party members, especially senior officials, to push aside some social events to study in the upcoming week-long holiday. They should also seek out suggestions about the Party education campaign and report their findings after the holiday.

Party organizations at various levels should attach great importance to caring for CPC members and the general public during the holiday by helping them to celebrate the holiday happily and smoothly. The notice suggests party members better inform the general public of stipulations concerning the topic.

The notice requires party members to behave properly and voluntarily and avoid receiving cash, securities and coupons, not to gamble or participate in superstitious activities, and not to attend extravagant dinner parties during the holiday.

Meanwhile, party organizations and CPC Central Committee supervisors will oversee the advanced-nature studies. They should schedule their post-holiday works in advance and facilitate relevant study activities to proceed orderly after the holiday.

The educational campaign, which aims to help party members maintain their advanced nature by keeping pace with the times and meeting people's demands, was launched this month to turn the requirements into concrete actions.
