Qian Yunlu Re-elected Party Chief of Heilongjiang

Qian Yunlu was elected secretary of the Heilongjiang Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) on Friday.

Qian, born in Oct. 1944, was elected to the post at the first plenary session of the 10th CPC Heilongjiang Provincial Committee held in Harbin, capital of the northeastern province.

Qian is a native of Dawu, in central China's Hubei Province, and he joined the CPC in 1965. He graduated from Hubei University in 1967.

He is now a member of the 16th CPC Central Committee and has served as secretary of the CPC Heilongjiang Provincial Committee since Dec. 2005.
