Beijing Police to Woo Public with Cartoon Images
In November this year, Beijing will issue a set of lottery postcards bearing cartoon images of police officers in a bid to create an amiable image of the police among the public, said a police spokesman Tuesday.

The new postcards will be published jointly by the municipal public security bureau and the capital's general postal and telecommunications bureau.

Residents can use the new postcards to play the lottery with a 33 percent probability of winning, and they will be able to collect their winnings at local post offices around the country.

It is the first time that Chinese police have tried to improve relations with the public through the issuance of postcards bearing cartoon images of the police.

The eight-piece set of postcards depicts cartoon images of various types of police officers.
