Senior CPC official Attends Ceremony to Welcome New book on Trade Unions
Senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Wei Jianxing attended a ceremony to present anew book, The Book of Historical Materials of Trade Unions of China, on Friday.

Wei, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, wrote a preface entitled "Inherit good traditions and reach for glory" for the book.

Wei is also chairman of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions (ACFTU).

The book, which was begun in 1994, is an encyclopedia which describes the entire history and evolution of the Chinese working class and trade union movement between 1840 and 1993.

The book has 62 volumes and 150 million characters.

About 100 officials and experts attended the ceremony.
