Government Property Recovered
From 1997 through August this year, some 23.5 billion yuan worth of governmental property was recovered as a result of convictions in bribery and embezzlement cases on China's mainland, reported the nation's top prosecution authority.

During the past five years, more than 70,000 cases of taking bribes of 50,000 yuan (US$6,000) or more and graft involving public funds valued at 100,000 yuan or more have been investigated by prosecutors nationwide, said the Supreme People's Procuratorate.
