HK Police Seizes 600,000 HKD Worth of Heroin
Hong Kong police said Friday that it seized a total of 1,400 grams of suspected No.4 heroin worth about 600,000 HK dollars (76,923 US dollars) Thursday night.

After extensive investigations, officers attached to the Regional Special Duty Squad of Kowloon West successfully identified a 51-year-old man who is believed to be engaging in drugs trafficking activities, according to a police report.

The officers started lying ambush outside a hotel at 277 King’s Road in North Point last night. At about 8:50 p.m., the man was seen leaving the hotel and was intercepted by the officers.

Upon searching, some 400 grams of No.4 heroin was found in his possession. A subsequent search in his room in the hotel has led to a further seizure of 1,000 grams of No.4 heroin.

The man will be charged with trafficking in dangerous drug and will appear at the Eastern Magistrates' Courts later Friday, said the police.
