Olympics Spending to Top US$300 Million on Security
Spending on security during the 2008 Beijing Olympics Games will probably top US$300 million, compared to the US$20 billion to be spent on infrastructure in preparations for the games, a forum on security in Beijing was told on Sunday.

Security for the 2000 Sydney Olympic cost US$224 million. The United States spent US$300 million for safety measures during this year's Salt Lake Winter Olympics, and the security budget for the 2004 Athens Olympics is projected to be US$635 million.
