CPC Leader Greets Workers on Duty During Festival
Hu Jintao, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), paid visits on Saturday to government officials, workers and policemen who were on duty during the Spring Festival of Chinese lunar New Year in Beijing.

Hu began by visiting an internet data center located on Chang'an Avenue, Beijing's most famous and important avenue. The Internet Data Center is one of China's three major internet portals and information centers.

Hu asked those on duty to do their utmost to provide secure and accessible telecommunications services.

Hu, who is also the vice-president of the state, then visited the Beijing Power Supply Bureau, a major supplier in north China’s power grid. The bureau is responsible for providing electricity to Beijing and its surrounding areas covering 16,800 square kilometers.

Officials there showed him the load register and briefed him on Beijing’s load peaks during the Spring Festival and the summer. Hu praised the employees for making the Spring Festival warm and bright through diligent work.

Hu also visited a police station and conveyed season's greetings to police officers across the country. He encouraged the police to make further contributions towards serving the people and safeguarding social stability.
