Wu Guanzheng Urges Improving Work Style of Grass-root units

A senior leader of the Communist Party of China (CPC) is urging an improved work style of the Party's grass-root units to better serve the interests of the people.

Wu Guanzheng, a member of the nine-member Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and also secretary of the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, spoke during an inspection tour in northwest China's Qinghai Province from Sept. 12 to 16.

Wu said the grass-root CPC cadres have made important contributions to the country's reform, development and social stability through their hard work. However, some cadres have violated the interests of the masses because of their poor performance, including lack of impartiality, loose law enforcement and manipulating power for their own benefit.

He urged grass-root CPC cadres to care for the weal and woe of the masses, listen to their voices and help to solve their real difficulties.

He also urged improving transparency of administrative affairs at grass-root units, including village affairs and affairs of plants, and allow the masses and public opinion to play supervisory roles.
