Bush Signs Order to Lift Sanctions on Iraq

US President George W. Bush has signed an order to officially lift the sanctions imposed on Iraq since 1990.

Bush said the situation has been significantly altered by the removal of Saddam Hussein and other developments.

He commented that this action is consistent with related, which substantially lifted the multilateral economic sanctions against Iraq.

The sanctions were put in place in 1990 when Saddam ordered Iraqi forces to invade Kuwait.
