Chinese Epic World Premieres at Venice Film Festival

The Chinese film World premiered at the Venice Film Festival Saturday.

Directed by Chinese director Jia Zhangke, the film is entered in the competition section. It is the only Chinese film competing in the festival.

The film's leading lady, Zhao Tao, has been nominated for the festival's best actress award.

World is about several young people who leave their village to work in a big city full of temptations, reflecting the lives of millions of migrant workers in today's China.
