China Hopes Israel and Palestine Resumes Peace Talks

Visiting Chinese Middle-East envoy Wang Shijie, says China hopes Israel and Palestine could take efficient measures to resume peace talks and improve the Israel-Palestinian situation.

Meeting with Israeli Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom, Wang Shijie said China hopes the two countries can solve their dispute based UN resolutions and the principal of land for peace to realize the peaceful co-existence of the two nations.

Wang urges the Israeli army to stop their assaults on the Palestinian people, halt the construction of barrier walls and Israeli settlements, release jailed Palestinians and improve the quality of their lives.

Shalom expressed Israel's appreciation of China's effect on the Middle East.
