UN Secretary-General Arrives in Beijing

Secretary-General of the United Nations Kofi Annan arrived in Beijing on Saturday evening, kicking off his five-day official visit to China as guest of the Chinese government.

During his stay in Beijing, Annan is expected to exchange views with Chinese leaders on issues of common concern.

It is Annan's sixth China trip since he became secretary-general in 1997.
