Chinese, Canadian Parliaments Advance Ties

The parliaments of China and Canada further enhanced their relations as He Luli, vice-chairperson of the Standing Committee of the Chinese National People's Congress (NPC), met with a delegation from Canada-China Parliamentary Association of the Canadian Parliament Monday morning.

The Canadian delegation is led by Senator Joseph Day and member of the House of Commons Tom Wappel, the co-chairmen of Canada-China Parliamentary Association.

He Luli met with the guests in the Great Hall of the People in downtown Beijing.

This was the first time that Day and Wappel led a delegation to China since they became the co-chairmen of the association. They are currently visiting the country at the invitation of the China-Canada Parliamentary Association of the NPC.
