China Hopes Confidence Built in Mideast

China says it hopes that Palestinians and Israelis will build mutual confidence in an effort to realize a lasting peace in the Middle East region.

Chinese Ambassador to Jordan, Luo Xingwu, said in Amman on Thursday that the Chinese vision on the Middle East issue is represented in four points.

These four points were raised by Chinese State Councilor Tang Jiaxuan during his visit to the Palestinian territories and Israel late last year.

The ambassador said they include resuming peace talks between Palestinians and Israel, reviving the roadmap and establishing an independent Palestinian state.

On China's relations with Jordan, Luo described them as excellent, indicating that Jordanian King Abdullah II's recent visit to China yielded outstanding results.
