China is willing to make concerted efforts with Cambodia to enhance political exchanges between political parties, governments and parliaments of the two countries, a senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC) said In Beijing Friday.
Li Changchun, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, made the remark in his meeting with Prince Norodom Sirivudh, secretary-general of the Cambodian Funcinpec Party and Cambodian deputy prime minister.
In the meeting, Li first conveyed regards to former King Norodom Sihanouk, King Norodom Sihamoni and Funcinpec Party Chairman Norodom Ranarith on behalf of Hu Jintao, general-secretary of CPC Central Committee.
The two countries should further the mutual-benefit cooperation in various fields and push forward the all-round development of Sino-Cambodian strategic relations of cooperation, he said.
China and Cambodia are friendly neighbors and close friends in need, said Li. The two countries enjoyed mutual political trust, carried out mutually beneficial economic cooperation and closely coordinated in international affairs in recent years, Li said.
The further development of Sino-Cambodian traditional friendship serves the fundamental interest of two countries and two peoples, he said.
He also expressed appreciation to Cambodia for its supports to China on the issues of Taiwan, Tibet and human rights.
The Cambodian Funcinpec Party thanked the CPC for paying attention to the development of friendly cooperation between the two parties, said Sirivudh. He said his party wished to study CPC's experience in developing economy and enhancing party building.
He reiterated that Cambodia will firmly adhere to the one-China policy.
