Xiong Guangkai, deputy chief of the general staff of Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA), met in Beijing Thursday with Peter Nagel, chief of the military policy and arms control department of German Defense Ministry.

The two sides exchanged views on the Sino-German relationship and other issues of common concern.

Nagel is visiting for the eighth staff talks between the two countries' armed forces.
