Sudan's western Darfur rebels released two British humanitarian workers on Sunday, one day after they were kidnapped in northern Darfur.

Sudanese Humanitarian Aids Commissioner Ibrahim Hamid told the Sudan News Agency the two persons were released due to pressure by international organizations and the British embassy in Khartoum.

He said director of Kids for Kids organization Patricia Parker and her son Alester Parker were released by the Sudan Liberation Army in Darfur after they were abducted Saturday night at Azgarfa, 50 km north of al-Fashir, capital city of North Darfur state. Hamid said Patricia and her son arrived at Fashir Sunday afternoon.
