Ministers to Attend ASEAN-EU Meeting in Indonesia

Nine ministers from Europe and Southeast Asia have confirmed to attend the 15th ASEAN-EU ministerial meeting to be held between March 10-11 in Jakarta, spokesman of the Foreign Affairs Ministry Marty Natalegawa said Friday.

The nine ministers are from the European Commission, Estonia, Czech Republic, Sweden, Cambodia, Laos, Singapore, Malaysia and Luxembourg.

Scores of representatives on ministerial level from Britain, Ireland, Denmark, France, Poland and other countries will also participate the meeting, the spokesman said.

The meeting aims to discuss ASEAN-EU relationship, including cooperation on combating terrorism and trans-national crime, regional developments in ASEAN and EU, aftermath of earthquake and tsunami, as well as other international issues including the Middle East peace process and the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula.
