John Woo Shoots Short Film for UNICEF

Hong Kong heavyweight director John Woo will shoot a fourteen-minute short film for the United Nation Children Fund (UNICEF) in Beijing next week.

The short film is part of a two-hour feature named The Forgotten Children for UNICEF, which will be jointly finished by John Woo and other six top directors around the world including Ridley Scott and Spike Lee.

Woo's picture focuses on two Beijing girls: one from a rich divorced family and the other an orphan.

As a UN ambassador, actress Jiang Wenli will star as one girl's mother for no payment.

UNICEF says this film aims to express children's hardship and hope in the world.
