Li Holds Talks with Kyrgyz Acting FM

China attaches great importance to developing relations with Kyrgyzstan, said Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing Wednesday when holding talks with Kyrgyzstan's acting Foreign Minister Roza Otunbayeva.

Li spoke highly of the development of Sino-Kyrgyz ties since the two countries established diplomatic relations 13 years ago and expressed appreciation for Kyrgyzstan's adherence to the one-China policy.

China regards Kyrgyzstan as good neighbor, good friend and good partner, said Li, and hopes that the two countries will continue to deepen cooperation in various fields to enhance coordination in such multilateral frameworks as the UN and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, in a bid to promote Sino-Kyrgyz friendly and cooperative ties.

Otunbayeva said her government gives priority to developing relations with China among its diplomatic work. Kyrgyzstan will continue to uphold the one-China policy and to further expand cooperation with China in such fields as politics, economy, trade, transport, security and culture, she added.

The two ministers also exchanged views on international and regional issues of common concern.

Otunbayeva arrived in Beijing Tuesday for a four-day working visit.
