China, Romania Have Good Military Cooperation Potentials

A senior Chinese military officer said Thursday that Chinese armed forces highly value relations with the Romanian armed forces and see great potential for bilateral cooperation.

During his talks with visiting Romanian Chief of the Land Forces Sorin Ioan, Ge Zhenfeng, deputy chief of General Staff of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA), said China-Romania relations have withstood tests and developed in a smooth way since the establishment of diplomatic ties about 50 years ago.

Developing relations between Chinese and Romanian armed forces is in the interests of the two peoples and the two nations, Ge said, noting that the two armed forces enjoy broad prospects and have enormous potential in cooperation.

Ge also briefed Ioan on the defense policy of China and PLA construction.

Ioan said Romania-China relations have maintained steady development, adding that Romania is ready to step up friendly cooperation and exchanges with China in various sectors including the military.

Ioan arrived in Beijing Wednesday morning for a seven-day official visit at the invitation of the Headquarters of the PLA General Staff.
