2 Killed, 100 Injured in Jakarta Train Collision

At least two passengers were killed and 103 others injured when two trains collided during rush hour in Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta, Thursday afternoon, police said.

Police officer of Pasar Minggu District Aitu Sutanto told Xinhua by telephone that the injured are being treated at some local hospitals.

The accident took place at 4:15 PM local time with one train slamming the other from behind as both of them headed to Jakarta from Bogor Regency.

Police officers and emergency workers were still searching other victims on the location Thursday evening and the death toll was expected to rise.
