State Councilor Hua Jianmin met in Beijing Monday with Swedish Minister of Finance Par Nuder.

Hua, also secretary-general of State Council, said China and Sweden share common ground on many international issues and the economies of the two countries are complementary and have great potential for cooperation.

The Chinese government attaches importance to relations with Sweden, and would like to upgrade the relationship to a new height, he said.

Hua briefed the guest on China's economic reform, scientific development concept, as well as its strategy of building up a harmonious society.

Par Nuder said the relations between Sweden and China have developed well, and economic and trade cooperation has increased, and Sweden will promote cooperation with China in all fields.
