More Foreigners Working in Shanghai
The number of the foreigners newly contracted to work in Shanghai has reached 14,638, equating to a 32 percent increase over last year, eastday.com reports.

Of the contracted workers, 3,836 foreigners have got official working certificates. The rest are all contracted for temporary working passes. Most of the contracted workers are now employed by foreign invested companies (71 percent) or at the Shanghai representative offices of foreign establishments (19 percent).

A new trend among foreign employees is that a growing number are more willing to work in non-foreign related companies or establishments. Last year, 180 foreigners enrolled in local companies, and the number rose to 379 this year, up nearly 111 percent.
