China Willing to Play Active Role for Political Solution to Iraqi Issue
China is ready to play an active and constructive role for seeking the political solution to the Iraqi issue within the framework of the United Nations.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Kong Quan made the remarks when asked to comment on US President George W. Bush's speech delivered in the 57th session of the UN General Assembly.

UN Secretary-general Kofi Annan and leaders of some countries also made speeches, and all sides have mentioned their attitude on the Iraqi issue, Kong added.
