The Non-aligned Movement (NAM) will promote understanding and coordination among developing countries, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Kong Quan said Thursday.
Kong said the NAM Summit was undoubtedly of great significance to the development of the NAM in the future.
He said China was the largest developing country in the world and an observer of the NAM.
Kong said China believed the conference would boost mutual understanding, mutual trust and cooperation among its members.
The 13th NAM Summit was held in Kuala Lumpur on Feb. 24 and 25. A Chinese delegation, led by Vice-Foreign Minister Wang Guangya, participated with observer status.
