University to Cooperate with US Foundation in Finance Education
Northeastern University in China's Liaoning Province signed an agreement Wednesday with a US-based foundation to establish a finance education center.

Set up jointly with the New Capital International Research Foundation (USA), the center is expected to open in September.

The center will provide training courses on international finance to government employees, listed companies and business managers as well as college students, according to Gordon Wang, board chairman of the foundation.

"China is in great need of talented people who are professional in financial management and familiar with international practice," said He Jicheng, president of the university.

The center will invite US financial experts to give courses, according to the foundation.

The New Capital International Research Foundation is a non-profit American charity foundation which engages in international financial study and training. Most of its funds originate from American society.

China's Northeastern University was founded in Shenyang in 1923by the late Zhang Xueliang, well known as "the Young Marshal". It now boasts China's biggest software park.

Zhang served in the KMT Northeast Army and controlled northeast China's provinces until being ousted by the Japanese invasion of 1931. He is admired and remembered by Chinese people.
