China in Favor of Continued Sino-US Dialogue on Human Rights Issues
China believes that China and the United States should maintain a dialogue on human rights issues, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Kong Quan said in Beijing Tuesday at the regular press conference.

The basis for the dialogue is equality and mutual respect, Kong said.

China has reiterated its clear-cut stance on human rights issues at meetings in Geneva, he said, adding that the field of human rights should become a source of cooperation rather than confrontation for the international community.
