China will work together with people across the world for "the lofty cause of peace and development", said Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing in Beijing Wednesday.
At a reception for foreign diplomats and representatives of international organizations in China, Li said China would continue to pursue its independent foreign policy of peace and consolidate and enhance friendly relations with countries throughout the world on the basis of the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence.
The diplomats and representatives said they would contribute to friendship and cooperation between their countries and China.
