China Offers Emergency Aid to Sri Lanka
The Chinese government announced Monday to contribute five million yuan (about US$605,327) of emergency aid to the Sri Lankan government.

A press release from the Chinese Ministry of Commerce (MOC) said that the Chinese government and people were deeply concerned for the Sri Lankan people, who were suffering the effects of serious flooding.

The MOC said the emergency aid would be dispatched soon to Sri Lanka to help relieve the difficulties in the flood-hit areas.

Sri Lanka is suffering the worst flooding in 60 years. The flooding has killed more than 300 people and left over 500 people missing.
