Saddam's Brother-in-law in Custody: US Forces
US forces have captured a brother-in-law of Saddam Hussein in the former president's hometown of Tikrit, the US military announced on Monday.

Mulhana Hamood Abdul Jabar, who was not on US list of the 55 most-wanted Iraqis, was detained in the early hours of Sunday, Josslyn Aberle, spokeswoman for the US 4th Infantry Division, told reporters in the northern city of Kirkuk.

She said Jabar had been transferred to a holding facility at the Baghdad International Airport for questioning after being arrested in Tikrit, some 170 km north of Baghdad.

Maj. Gen. Raymond Odierno, commander of the US 4th Infantry Division, had earlier identified the detainee as Saddam's son-in-law without disclosing his name.

The US officer said Jabar was in possession of US$300,000, 8 million dinars (around US$8,000), three AK-47 assault rifles, and a rocket-propelled grenade.
