Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President George W. Bush are expected to meet in St. Petersburgon June 1, Itar-Tass news agency reported Thursday.
They will discuss major international issues covering Iraq, the Middle East peace process, cooperation in the fight against terrorism and strategic stability with a focus on the Russian-American Strategic Offensive Reductions Treaty.
It is widely believed that Bush is likely to touch on the issue concerning Iran's nuclear program.
The two leaders are also expected to exchange views on the development of bilateral trade and economic ties, agenda for the Group of Eight summit to be held in Evian, France.
At the upcoming weekend, world leaders including Bush will attend the celebrations marking the 300th anniversary of the founding of St. Petersburg, Russia's second largest city.
